History & Growth Our Organisation Has Achieved In 1939, Lawrence Dry Cleaners opened its first small shop in the suburb of Ashfield where the dry cleaning was carried out on the premises.1939 Lawrence Building This was to be the beginning of the fabric care industry for Lawrence.From this simple beginning, a chain of stores developed and continued to grow. By the mid-1950s, Lawrence Dry Cleaners operated from a large factory that had sixty pressing machines under one roof. As Lawrence Dry Cleaners continued to grow within the fabric care industry, this gave the company greater scope for opportunities with the introduction of our vast commercial laundry & dry cleaning plant based at Waterloo including the injection of new and improved technologies. Lawrence currently processes 10,500 tonnes per year of hospitality linen and launders up 4000 garments per day.2Nd Waiter
